Leading with Heart: How Joahnna Corvetti Inspires Others to Be the Best They Can Be

A thriving workplace culture starts with great leadership, but what makes a great leader? It begins with the ability to engage, nurture and inspire - a vital skill Joahnna Corvetti brings to Levant every day. As a Psychologist and Consultant, Joahnna empowers clients to lead with heart and integrity. As a Director, she champions our own people to achieve and flourish. And as a parent? Raising two children is Joahnna’s most important leadership role of all.

A culture of growth

Growing up, Joahnna Corvetti was a keen observer. She was fascinated by people: their behaviours, motivations and perceptions. This curiosity led to a psychology degree and a strong desire to help people, organisations and leaders be the best they could be.

Since beginning her career in 2000, Joahnna has honed her expertise in organisational psychology, development and strategic change across corporate industries, professional services and the public sector. But what Joahnna truly excels at is empowering leadership teams to navigate successful change journeys and create exceptional experiences for their people.

“Leaders have such a huge influence not just on the organisation, but on their employees and even the broader community,” Joahnna says. “It’s always been a passion of mine to help leaders make a positive impact and create a thriving culture.”

Yet, it wasn’t until Joahnna joined Levant that this experienced leadership expert felt part of a genuine people-first culture.

Joahnna had worked alongside Levant’s founder, Fadi Zeitoune, early in her consulting career. By the time they reconnected in 2018, nearly 15 years had passed, but they shared the same passion for working with clients and colleagues to achieve the best possible solutions.

“I was so inspired by Fadi’s vision and his reason for creating Levant. I’d reached a point in my career where I was ready for a change, and I had become much clearer about what was important to me and where I wanted to spend my time. Fadi’s philosophy and values really resonated with me. It was all about doing consulting differently and creating an environment where people genuinely wanted to come to work and help each other grow. That was exciting to me.”

Helping others be great

Joining our Sydney team as a Manager, Joahnna immediately felt at home within Levant’s supportive, collaborative team culture.

“Everyone shared the same view of helping each other to be great. I really felt that from the start. I walked into a team where I felt very welcomed and supported to contribute. The other thing that stood out was the great sense of accountability. Everyone here has a genuine desire to do things really well. It’s not just words - people mean it. We do make mistakes, but we learn from them. It is a safe, trusting environment.”

Joahnna quickly found her feet and moved into a Director role, where her leadership skills have truly come to the fore. Each day is different as our agile senior consultant supports organisations and leadership teams to evolve through purposeful strategies and behavioural change.

“There is so much variety in the work we do. No two projects or clients are the same, and that’s what I love. You need to observe, understand the context you’re operating in, and adapt and adjust accordingly. You’re never quite sure what to expect, but I say, bring it on!”

Joahnna feels a deep sense of pride when she sees organisations perform better as a result of collaborating with Levant. But what this humble leader is most proud of is helping the people in her own team flourish.

“I get really excited about seeing our people thrive and become better consultants. Levant is growing, and part of that growth is supporting our people to grow, too - not just their professional competency, but the whole person. Over the years, I’ve had access to mentors who have helped me work on my own leadership, so I could become the best I can be. So, if I can support the people around me in the same way, that is hugely rewarding.”

Flexibility and family

As a wife and mother of two children aged 10 and 13, family is Joahnna’s number-one priority. Switching between work mode and family life is never easy, but at Levant, Joahnna says she has the flexibility and support she needs to ensure her children’s needs come first.

“As my children get older, I realise the more they need me in terms of my presence. Parenting is another type of leadership role; it’s a skill. To work on that skill, you need to get clear on what’s important to you in life and then make choices around that - choices that will work for you and your family, your team, and the client. Quite a few of us at Levant are parents, and we have very open conversations about what we need. There is a shared understanding that we are all people with different responsibilities outside of work.”

Joahnna looks forward to continuing her learning and leadership journey at Levant, helping more organisations and colleagues explore new ideas, shape purposeful solutions, and achieve their goals.

And if you’re interested in a career at Levant? Joahnna offers the following advice.

“You need to love working with people and solving problems. Be open and curious. Don’t be afraid to learn and try different things. There is so much fluidity and variety in what we do, so I think it is helpful to have a level of comfort with that. Be OK with not knowing what’s coming next. It is challenging, but that’s the fun of it! You also need to value being part of a team that supports each other to grow and do great work.”
