Ensuring 5,000 energy company employees transitioned to SAP without interrupting critical services

We helped one of Australia’s largest energy companies implement SAP S/4HANA through a successful, stakeholder-centric change management program.

The program, which was awarded an SAP Best Run award (2022), ensured over 5,000 people successfully adopted the new ERP solution.

The 5,000 people were spread across Australia, working in regional sites and metro offices. Our change efforts focussed on helping them understand why they were moving to SAP, the benefits it would bring, and what would actually change for them.

Over the course of 18 months, our team worked closely with the internal program team and system implementation partner to understand how SAP would be built and implemented. At the same time, the team ensured each stakeholder group we had identified received the information and support they needed to successfully make the change.

Our work culminated in the successful implementation of SAP, and strong usage across the business. Other benefits have included central shared services teams able to take on more work (due to more efficient processes), the ability to deploy maintenance teams more efficiently across all power generation assets and a 90% reduction in charts of accounts compared to the legacy ERP.
